A great day's debating finished with EIC once again being crowned COBIS World Debating Champions. EIC Blue defeated Dubai College in a tense and dramatic cup final in which the motion focused on the concept of a border free world. The standard of debating was incredibly high as it had been throughout the two day competition. Earlier? in the day we had seen an equally dramatic and tense affair as the competition had drawn together EIC Blue and White in the semi final. In the plate competition Dubai College 2 had emerged as victors beating Kings College.
The students themselves have been a credit to their respective schools and they go away we hope with fond memories and friendships made. The competition has run smoothly and we have received a huge amount of praise for both the cultural week and the two day debate event. Our students who have ushered, chaired and debated have been a credit to us. All of this has been made possible by a huge team effort but a special mention must go to Vic whose tireless energy and commitment has ensured the event has run seamlessly
