In conjunction with Costa del Sol Cricket Club and European Cricket League, Year 5 - 8 EiC students were cordially invited to attend coaching sessions and enjoy a wider cricket experience at the Malaga Cartama Oval hosting the International T10 Cricket League. Students were introduced to the basic skills of the game including batting, catching, bowling and fielding. There were three rigorous and competitive sessions led by literally world class coaches and players. It was obvious to all the international players representing their countries, the coaches, the teachers and spectators that our students really enjoyed taking on new challenges in a world class arena and immersed themselves into cricket.
Students were given caps that were signed by the players and appeared on live TV. The Malaga Cartama Oval is an inspiring place to play at and watch cricket. The standard of cricket was impressive with Scotland, France and Belgium amongst the winners this week.
We were all proud when the coaching staff and players acknowledged our students' positivity, abilities and good sportsmanship. Students will always wear their EiC school badge with genuine pride.
