University applications are the theme this month in the Sixth Form, with November being a big month for Year 12s and Year 13s.
For Year 12s, it is about beginning the process of choosing universities and courses to apply to and to help with that we had an Introduction to University Applications talk, for both students and parents, from Mr Edwards. The talk outlined the application procedures, deadlines and fees in a variety of countries, as well as some advice on how to start choosing a course and universities.
Year 13s are in the middle of the application process, with half of the students having applied already and offers starting to come in. Some students already have 3 or 4 offers from different UK universities, such as Bristol, Leeds, Cardiff, Nottingham & many more. At the same time portfolios are being finalised for arts/ architecture courses and we are in the interview phase for Oxford, Cambridge and others. The first interview has already taken place, while there are mock interviews going on most days, as we help the Year 13s prepare.
We wish them all the very best.
