It was a pleasure to welcome the return of the Primary Projects and the first of these for this academic year was undertaken by Year 5. Linking to their topic 'Inventions', they presented and exhibited their projects entitled 'A Century of Change - Inventions'.
Last term the children were tasked with inventing a new useful product not currently available. Working in groups they researched, designed, built and put together a digital presentation all about their invention. During the Project Exhibition, the children not only eloquently and confidently spoke about their inventions during their group presentations, they all then had the opportunity to exhibit the individual pieces of work they had produced over the last few weeks.
It was wonderful to not only see such a variety of topics including the invention of the first ever book, how education has changed over time, who invented anaesthesia and how the mobile phone has developed over the year, but to also listen to the children share their learning about these so enthusiastically with parents, teachers and other children from Primary. With such a vast array of skills and ideas on show, we are certainly looking at some future entrepreneurs and inventors in the making. Watch out world!
