Children's Mental Health Week 2023

Most people have found the weather this week pretty tricky to navigate: the roads have been horrendous, we are consistently squelching around with wet feet and generally, people's moods have been lower than usual. The weather has certainly not been on our side and yet we have not let it get us down or get in the way of our plans! Infact, if it wasn't for the weather we would not have made a Plan B for our Wellbeing Walk and Connect across Primary and Secondary, and we would not have witnessed the sheer excitement, joy and delight of all of the pupils engaging and connecting with one another in their classrooms.

To see our older students coming back down to the classrooms that they once inhabited in Primary and remembering simple pleasures like playing board games for Golden Time or doing a puzzle together was really lovely. It's really quite remarkable that when you are in Primary, you can not wait to become one of the big children and enjoy more freedom, and yet, when you are in Secondary, you enjoy the things that you once thought were holding you back from being that big person. The lesson here? Live for the moment - connect with those around you and stop worrying about the future; for the present is a gift.

Thank you to all of our students for an afternoon that we didn't know we ALL needed...and LOVED.
