A few weeks ago, a brave group of students from Years 6, 7 & 8 took on the Junior Maths Challenge. These questions are designed to take students outside their comfort zone and apply their knowledge in unfamiliar situations, drawing on a mixture of logic and creative thinking to arrive at a solution. To achieve a Bronze certificate, you must be in the top 50% of entrants globally, and a Silver certificate puts you in the top 25%. Over three quarters of the students entered gained a certificate, and a special mention goes to Nikhil, Aaron and Hector who were the highest scorers in their respective year groups.
Especially impressive were Hector and Egor in Year 6, who both achieved Bronze certificates in a competition that is open to students from both Year 7 and Year 8 around the world. We look forward to what they can achieve next year!
