On Tuesday, we were treated to an epic performance by our current Year Two, who celebrated the end of their Key Stage One journey in style!
This year, the theme of our Primary Projects was all about 100 years of change. Our mini teachers from the present Daisy (Miss Sophie), Elisa (Miss Debra) and Nuria (Miss Kim) introduced the idea of the show. Year Two took the audience time traveling back to 1982, when the school was founded and Miss Sophie was also 7. Lucinda played a very strict teacher from the past, but thankfully just when the teacher got very strict, the Magic Key always glowed and we came back to 2023! The children had fantastic caps, which could be turned around to show both dates. Lessons in 2023 are far more fun and we were treated to a fantastic rendition of the 3 Times Tables song, in the style of Bruno Mars; an epic Adjectives rap and a lovely song about Planet Earth. Then, we were entertained with a fun Spanish scene, where the children showed off their amazing language skills by speaking, singing and dancing!
The children concluded that they much prefer school in 2023, but they do love the music from the 1980s and the show finished with a repeat performance of their fantastic Summer Fiesta dance. Year Two showed off their dancing skills to a medley of Kylie songs from the 1980s.
Every child in the class chose to speak in the performance and did so with such confidence and acting style. The singing and dancing was brilliant and full of enthusiasm. The show was a very special end to a wonderful year and the conclusion of Key Stage One.
