As a teacher, joining a new school presents a number of challenges - new routines, expectations, policies, learning new names - but in particular, preparing for a gala in less than 3 weeks! But that task was made so much easier thanks to the students of the EIC. The positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to participate have been amazing. I have been so impressed by the overall standard of swimming in this school - a credit to the hard work from the students and the superb PE team.
During the swimming lessons, the letters EIC emblazoned on the swimming caps led me to think about what those letters could mean to describe what I have seen in our students over the first few weeks of the term: Excellence - In terms of attitude and striving to perform to the highest level Inspirational - high levels of performance leading to new records that future generations will aim to beat. Courage - overcoming barriers. Some of our students were experiencing their first competitive sporting event, whilst others were anxious with nerves in the build-up to the event, but they all stepped up to the mark and performed on the day.
Congratulations to all our swimmers.
