We were all excited about the prospect of a visit to the Malaga Football Club.
We arrived eagerly at the stadium and were greeted by a member of their staff who took us on a tour. Although the trip itself was shorter than we'd expected, we still got the taste and feel of the stadium and we all decided we'd love to come back and watch a match at this 30,000 seater stadium. We went to their trophy room and saw some of the biggest trophies we'd ever seen. We saw all the past football strips and over the course of the visit, we really got to see just how far the club has grown since the early days in 1904! We got to see the view from one of the hospitality boxes which gave a fantastic view of the pitch. We were also able to sit in the press office, imagining we were fielding questions about how we planned to take Malaga back up into La Liga! We also walked through the tunnel leading onto the pitch itself, although we weren't allowed to touch the grass! We spent a few minutes in the visitors' change room, trying to guess which superstars had sat there before us. Yes, Messi and Ronaldo were both here! Although we felt the visit itself could have been longer, our day didn't end there!
In fact, we ended up having a lovely day out after that. In the sunny Spring sun, we went to the new park near Miramar in Fuengirola to have our lunch. There were two zip lines running parallel to each other so you can imagine the fun it generated with race after race! There was a jungle-gym too which was also great fun! It was a great chance for our cohort to gel and they ended up getting on so well that we stayed for even longer. The next time you're in Malaga, watch a game and the next time you're in Fuengirola, take a walk to the new park. Both highly recommended!
