It was a wonderful way to start the Summer Term with our Lower and Upper Primary students and families coming together to celebrate our 7th year of Primary Projects, this year entitled 'What's My Story?' This year we took a slightly more informal and relaxed approach with a picnic in the Secret Garden for both children, teachers and parents to celebrate the children's learning journey over the past 8 weeks.
It was a fantastic afternoon celebrating all of the children's journals. Friends, families and children sat together sharing journals and family stories with each other. The journals, which contain stories of family history, traditions, photos and special events, were a brilliant display of all the hard work that the children have put in both at home, and at school. In addition, there was an incredible array of food provided by our parents and everyone enjoyed trying many new traditional dishes from a variety of cultures - we must thank our incredible school community for their collaboration with this.
During the afternoon we also had some special, memorable performances from a group of children who wanted to perform something which was a representation of their culture or heritage. Between them, Eva (Y2), Liv (Y3), George (Y5), Claudia (Y5), Alisa (Y5), Nicole (Y6) and Valentina (Y4), entertained us all with their rhythmic gymnastics, French singing, piano playing and Russian and Flamenco dancing. All the children were superbly confident and polished in their performances and the audience were truly delighted by the spectacle.
The Primary Projects for this academic year may be over, but the memories will live on for a long time. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the journey and we hope to see you continuing to add to, and cherishing your scrapbooks for many years to come.
