On Thursday and Friday, we were fortunate to be able to invite two sets of UK universities to talk to Year 12 students and parents about studying in the UK and their specific institutions. Each day featured a Universities Fair with a total of eighteen universities. After an overview of the UK university system, each university gave an introduction to themselves before allowing time for the students to speak individually with each of the universities about the course options on offer, accommodation, fees, life at university, and more.
It was an excellent opportunity for our students to meet with universities without needing to travel to the UK, and it provided numerous individual insights as well as sparking discussions about university plans. While AS exams are just on the horizon, we will return to a more in-depth consideration of university options in June with a dedicated Universities Week.
Many thanks to the universities of Bath, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, City (London), Durham, Edinburgh, Essex, Goldsmiths (London), Leeds, North East London, Plymouth, Royal Holloway, Southampton, Surrey, Sussex, Warwick, and York for visiting and helping to provide the Year 12s with advice on their future paths.
